What is Administrative Contracting?

The field of Public Procurement refers to the specific regulatory framework that allows certain private entities and Costa Rican public entities to obtain goods and services to achieve their goals and satisfy public and institutional interests, as long as they use public funds for this purpose. It consists of procedures with different rules depending on the amount of the transactions and is mostly carried out through the Public Procurement System SICOP.

The most common modalities of these contracts are: defined quantity, consignment, or delivery on demand. In the case of Public Works, there are modalities related to whether it is a design, construction, equipment, conservation, or turnkey contract.
